Fee & Expense Policy

Current Fee Structure

To date, DermLink Scholars has not required members to pay for any services, with the sole exception of a $50 presenter fee for our annual conference. This fee was implemented following a member vote conducted via Instagram poll, in which members were asked to choose between:

  • A $50 per presenter fee, with free general attendance for all members, or

  • A $5 general registration fee for all attendees.
    The majority supported the presenter fee model, which we have since adopted.

Organizational Costs

Although we strive to minimize costs for members, DermLink Scholars operates as a business and does incur expenses necessary to provide high-quality programming and services. These expenses include, but are not limited to:

  • Business Zoom account fees to accommodate large group meetings and breakout rooms.

  • Webinar hosting and interactive member events.

  • Canva Teams subscription for collaborative design and educational materials.

  • Website maintenance and hosting fees.

  • Abstract publication costs for the annual conference.

  • Various other expenses across subgroups.

Potential Future Fees

While DermLink Scholars has made a conscious decision to absorb most expenses and keep programming free to members, there may come a time when select webinars or services carry a small fee. Any such fees would exist solely to ensure the sustainability of the platform and to allow us to continue offering most services at no cost.

Transparency and Receipts

  • We are committed to being transparent with our members about any fees.

  • Receipts are automatically issued through SquareSpace at the time of payment.

  • If a receipt is not received, members may contact the officer team directly, and we will promptly provide one.

  • We welcome any questions and are always happy to provide clarification regarding charges or the financial process.
